Courses for the use of Databases

The library periodically offers short meetings to facilitate the use of available bibliographic tools (Internet, online databases and databases on CD-ROMs).

It is also possible, upon agreement, to organize courses on specific subject areas.

Bibliometric indicator

Available among the UCSC databases is the well-known bibliometric indicator Journal Citation Reports (based on citations compiled by the Institute for Scientific Information from 1997 to today), which, thanks to mathematical and statistical techniques used in Bibliometrics, makes it possible to analyze the distribution patterns of scholarly publications and to verify their impact within scholarly communities.
