Who can use

This service is designed to provide volumes, photocopies of articles and other bibliographic material owned by the UCSC Milan campus Library only to external libraries or documentation centers.

To forward requests, applicants are therefore required to turn to a library or documentation center.

Loan request procedure

Loan requests must be provided with detailed bibliographic references and information on the requested document, as retrieved by the UCSC OPAC.
Requests should preferably be submitted using the online form; it is also possible to send an e-mail request.

Materials excluded from service

Not available through interlibrary loan service:

• journals marked "Per"
• works held in the 'Giuseppe Billanovich Reference Room', marked "Cons"
• works for consultation (manuals, encyclopaedias, dictionaries, etc.)
• any work dated prior to 1945
• UCSC dissertations
• multimedia material

Not available through document delivery service:

• works stored in external storages
• UCSC dissertations
• UCSC faculty guides

Fees

The substantial increase in interlibrary loan and document delivery requests has made it necessary to charge a fixed fee covering the expenses incurred.

Waiting time

It is difficult to estimate how long it will take to obtain a book requested on loan or photocopies of journal articles as it depends on the number of requests received, availability of the material and the mailing time.

Warnings

After sending the completed form, it is recommended to verify that appear the message confirming the transmission of the request. If after sending a blank screen appeared, transmission can not be considered successful: in which case, it will be necessary to repeat the request sending directly to ill.dd-mi@unicatt.it  an e-mail with full details on the applicant library or documentation center, and full bibliographic references.

Please remember that, in compliance with the law in force, photocopies may only be requested exclusively for personal study and research reasons. It is strictly forbidden to use photocopies for commercial use. (Law 248 of 18 August 2000).
